How to search for emails with blank subject lines in Outlook?
In general, you can easily find out emails by subject with clicking Search > Subject in Outlook. But, do you know how to search for emails with empty subject lines? In this article, I will introduce two solutions of searching for emails with blank subject lines.
Search for emails with blank subject lines by Instant Search feature
Search for emails with blank subject lines by Advanced Find feature

Search for emails with blank subject lines by Instant Search feature
You can quickly search for all emails with blank subject lines from current folder, current mailbox, or all mailboxes by the Instant Search feature in Outlook.
Type the search criteria subject:[] into the Instant Search box, and then specify the search scope in the Scope group on the Search tab. See screenshot:
And now all emails with empty subject are found out and listed in the mail list.
Note: This method works depending on the Outlook displaying language, Outlook version, etc. And sometimes it is not able to find out emails with empty subject successfully. We recommend you to go to next method:
Search for emails with blank subject lines by Advanced Find feature
You can also apply the Advanced Find feature to search for emails with blank subject lines in Outlook. Please do as follows:
1. Press Ctrl + Shift + F keys simultaneously to open the Advanced Find dialog box.
2. In the Advanced Find dialog box, click the Browse button to open the Select Folder(s) dialog box, next check folders as search scope, and click the OK button. See screenshot:
3. Go to the Advanced tab, and define the search criteria as follows: (1) Click Field > All Mail fields > Subject, (2) select is empty from the Condition drop down list, and (3) click the Add to List button. See screenshot:
4. Click the Find Now button. And now all emails with empty subject lines are found out from the specified search scope, and listed at the bottom of Advanced Find dialog box. See screenshot:
