Customize language and get a free license of Kutools for Excel

If you want to customize the language of Kutools for Excel by translating the software from English into your own language yourself, please make sure you have installed the latest version of the software. You are always free download the software from here.

If you want to get a free license of our software (not only restricted to Kutools for Excel) by helping us translate the software into your own language, please send an email to sales@extendoffice.com to inform us with detailed information (such as: which language you are going to translate the software into) first. If we accept your offer, then you can start your translation and the granting of the license is given once we ensure the quality of your translation.

The customize language file is always located at: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Kutools for Excel\. You can access the customize language file as follows:

1. Open your Excel application, click Kutools > Help > Setting Center. See screenshot:

2. In the Kutools for Excel Setting Center, please click Language > select Customize > Set as default. See screenshot:

3. Click on File Location button, it will open the file folder of the customize language file directly. You can modify and translate the language file in this folder directly.

4. Click Ok to use the customize language file as default language of Kutools for Excel.

Notes:

1. You can help us translate the language file partly or completely. The language file of the Kutools for Excel has been split into 5 xml files. Please choose to translate one of those xml files into your own language. No matter which part of the language file you are going to translate into your own language, the granting of the license is given once we ensure the quality of your translation.

2. The 5 xml files are LanguagesUI.xml, LanguagesSuperTip.xml, LanguagesFormText1.xml, LanguagesFormText2.xml and LanguagesFormText3.xml.

LanguagesUI.xml includes all the language which will be displaying in the Ribbon of the software. Note: please try to help us translate this language file into your own language first.

LanguagesSuperTip.xml includes the Super Tip language of the software.

LanguagesFormText1.xml, LanguagesFormText2.xml and LanguagesFormText3.xml includes the language of each feature or utility dialog box.

3. Please don’t change the encoding of the language file. The encoding of the language file should always be UTF-8.

The customize language file is saved as xml file. If you don’t know how to deal with the xml file, please go to download and install the free xml editor (PSPad) from here. After installing the PSPad editor, you can modify and the customize language file.

1. Only the content in value=”I am editable. can be edited.

2. You can translate and modify the customize language file interactively, and then restart your Excel application to take effect or to check whether your translation is displaying properly.

3. Please don’t change the encoding of the language file. The encoding of the language file should always be UTF-8.
